In this first podcast in the Talk for Memory series, host Wayne MacPhail speaks to Geoff Dean. Geoff, who's 65, is a former book publisher. He had to give up his career to care for his wife, Philma.

They were married 42 years ago, after graduating from the University of Toronto, just two years earlier. But in the '90s, Philma showed the first signs of dementia that gradually worsened.

Their two children live in other cities. Geoff and Philma's sister trade off assisting her day to day.
