In this episode host Wayne MacPhail interviews Gerry McKee. Gerry is a former broadcaster now living in Ottawa with his wife, Joan.

Gerry's dealing with early onset Alzheimer's disease. He also watched as his father wrestled with the disease just after his retirement.

Joan is passionate about raising funds for this disease. In the 2006 Manulife Walk for Memories, Joan was one of the top fundraisers in the Ottawa region.

    Heartwrenching and inspirational. Hearing stories first hand from family members personalized this very tragic disease. The pod cast helped me better understand the sense of "loss and confusion" associated with those who live with the disease, the patients and their families.
